Blondie – Call Me

“Call Me” is a song by the American new wave band Blondie. Released in 1980, “Call Me” topped the singles charts in both the US, where it became the band’s biggest selling single and second No. 1, and the UK, where it became their fourth No. 1 hit. It was Billboard’s No. 1 hit of the year for 1980. The song was the main theme song of the film American Gigolo. European disco producer Giorgio Moroder originally asked Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac to help compose and perform a song for the soundtrack, but she declined (as a recently signed contract with Modern Records prevented her from working with Moroder).

DIIV – Doused

DIIV, formerly known as Dive, is an American indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York City. Formed in 2011, DIIV started as Zachary Cole Smith’s solo recording project. After releasing three singles – “Sometime”, “Human”, and “Geist” – on the Captured Tracks label, DIIV released its debut full-length album, Oshin, on June 26, 2012.

Ok Go – Here It Goes Again

“Here It Goes Again” is an alternative rock/power pop song by OK Go, and is the third released single (the fifth including radio-only singles) from the album Oh No. It also appears on the compilation album Now 23. It remains the band’s only single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, where it entered the Top 40 at #38, mostly due to the music video. Featuring the band dancing on treadmills, the video became a staple on YouTube; it was one of the most watched videos, with over 52 million views, until it was removed from their channel.

Lou Reed – Perfect Day

“Perfect Day” is a song written by Lou Reed in 1972, originally featured on Transformer, Reed’s second post-Velvet Underground solo album, and then as the B-side of his major hit, “Walk on the Wild Side”. Its fame was given a boost in the 1990s when it was featured in the 1996 film Trainspotting, and after a star-studded version was released as a BBC charity single in 1997, which became the UK’s number one single for three weeks. Reed re-recorded the song for his 2003 album The Raven.
