“Another Brick in the Wall” is the title of three songs set to variations of the same basic theme, on Pink Floyd’s 1979 rock opera, The Wall, subtitled Part 1 (working title “Reminiscing”), Part 2 (working title “Education”), and Part 3 (working title “Drugs”). All parts were written by Pink Floyd’s bassist, Roger Waters. Part II is a protest song against rigid schooling in general and boarding schools in the UK in particular.

“Have You Ever Seen the Rain” is a song written by John Fogerty and released as a single in 1971 from the album Pendulum (1970) by roots rock group Creedence Clearwater Revival. The song charted highest in Canada, reaching number one on the RPM 100 national album chart in March 1971. In the US, it peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the same year. On Cash Box pop chart, it peaked at number three. Billboard co-listed the b-side “Hey Tonight”. In the UK, it reached number 36. It was the group’s eighth gold-selling single.

“I Got You (I Feel Good)” is a twelve-bar blues with a brass-heavy instrumental arrangment similar to Brown’s previous hit, “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag”. It also features the same emphasis “on the one” (i.e. the first beat of the measure) that characterizes Brown’s developing funk style. The lyrics have Brown exulting in how good he feels (“nice, like sugar and spice”) now that he has the one he loves, his vocals punctuated by screams and shouts. The song includes a alto sax solo by Maceo Parker.

“Africa” is a song by rock band Toto, and one of the band’s most recognizable songs. The initial idea for the song came from David Paich. Jeff Porcaro explains the idea behind the song: “… a white boy is trying to write a song on Africa, but since he’s never been there, he can only tell what he’s seen on TV or remembers in the past.” David Paich said: “At the beginning of the ’80s I watched a late night documentary on TV about all the terrible death and suffering of the people in Africa. It both moved and appalled me and the pictures just wouldn’t leave my head. I tried to imagine how I’d feel about if I was there and what I’d do.
